Chinese President Xi Jinping has proposed a four-point plan to de-escalate the ongoing Iran-Israel conflict, calling for an immediate ceasefire and renewed international efforts to restore peace in the Middle East. The proposal was shared by Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning following Xi’s phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

During the call, Xi emphasized that an urgent ceasefire is essential, civilian safety must be safeguarded, dialogue and negotiation are the only viable solutions, and the international community’s role in promoting peace is crucial. He urged both sides—especially Israel—to halt hostilities without delay, according to Chinese state media outlet Xinhua.
