Chinese Port Hit by Massive Explosion from Container Ship

A massive explosion occurred on a cargo vessel docked at a port in eastern China. State media reported that the ship, stationed at Ningbo-Zhoushan Port in Zhejiang province, was carrying hazardous materials. The explosion happened around 1:40 pm local time, causing extensive flames and smoke.

The incident, which unfolded at one of the world’s largest ports, was captured in videos showing a huge burst of white smoke followed by an intense fireball.

Despite the dramatic visuals, no casualties have been reported yet. Authorities have launched an investigation, and the ship’s cargo, classified as Class 5 hazardous materials, remains under scrutiny.
