Pakistan has extended its ban on Indian airlines and cargo flights for the 22nd straight day, aviation sources confirmed on Saturday. The restriction, implemented in response to rising tensions after the Pahalgam incident and broader India-Pakistan hostilities, has severely impacted Indian aviation operations.
Industry experts estimate that the closure has caused India over Rs5 billion in losses due to increased fuel consumption, longer flight paths, and halted cargo operations.

Indian passenger airlines—particularly those flying to destinations in Europe, North America, and other Western regions—are facing major disruptions.
A senior aviation official noted that flights are now detouring significantly, with journey times increasing by 2.5 to 3 hours. The cargo industry is also suffering from delays and inflated logistical costs as a result of the ongoing airspace restrictions.
