Filipino expatriate living in Dubai has won the AED 20 million grand prize in the latest Abu Dhabi Big Ticket draw after spending 15 years purchasing entries.
Reynaldo Herboso was announced as the winner during the live draw for Big Ticket Series 289 on Monday. His winning ticket, numbered 267822, was purchased on July 13.
When organisers called Reynaldo during the live broadcast to inform him of the result, he struggled to believe the news. After a brief pause, he asked, “Did I really win this prize?” Moments later, he shared the life-changing news with a close family member.
The win marks the end of a long journey for Reynaldo, who said he had consistently taken part in the Big Ticket draw for the past 15 years. His experience highlights the persistence of many regular participants in the UAE’s popular prize draw.
Although Reynaldo was announced as the grand prize winner, the jackpot will not go to him alone. He revealed that the winning ticket was purchased jointly with a group of 10 people. As a result, the AED 20 million prize will be divided equally, giving Reynaldo an individual share of AED 2 million.
The latest result follows another major Big Ticket win in the previous month, when Kanika Arora from Delhi, India, claimed the AED 25 million jackpot. According to Big Ticket organisers, she also selected the lucky winning ticket for this month’s draw.
