Tech billionaire Elon Musk has addressed recent claims after his name surfaced in newly released Jeffrey Epstein emails. The emails suggest Musk inquired about visiting Epstein’s private island in 2012 and 2013. Musk has repeatedly stated he declined multiple invitations.
According to the documents, Musk once emailed Epstein asking, “What day/night will be the wildest party on your island.” Despite this, Musk insists his interactions with Epstein were limited.
In a public statement on X (formerly Twitter), Elon Musk said, “No one pushed harder than me to have the Epstein files released and I’m glad that has finally happened.” He emphasized that some email exchanges could be misinterpreted by critics.
Musk clarified, “I had very little correspondence with Epstein and declined repeated invitations to go to his island or fly on his ‘Lolita Express’. I was aware that some emails could be used by detractors to smear my name.”
The Tesla CEO added that his focus remains on justice for Epstein’s victims. “I don’t care about misinterpretation, but I care that we at least attempt to prosecute those who committed serious crimes with Epstein, especially regarding heinous exploitation of underage girls,” Musk said.
Jeffrey Epstein, a convicted sex offender, died by suicide in 2019 while in U.S. custody. The latest email files have also implicated several other high-profile figures, including Bill Gates, reigniting debates over Epstein’s connections.
Elon Musk’s response comes amid intense public scrutiny as the files continue to generate media attention. While he denies any wrongdoing, Musk’s clarification aims to separate his limited interactions with Epstein from the criminal actions of the disgraced financier.
