During his official visit to the United States, Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Field Marshal Asim Munir, participated in a series of important meetings in Washington, where he addressed key regional and global matters, according to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
Field Marshal Munir drew attention to certain regional entities exploiting terrorism as a means of hybrid warfare and reiterated that Pakistan has consistently been at the forefront of the global fight against terrorism.

His engagements with leading U.S. think tanks and representatives from strategic institutions offered a platform to present Pakistan’s principled views on global and regional developments, while also fostering a deeper understanding of Pakistan’s strategic vision.
In his speeches, the Army Chief reaffirmed Pakistan’s dedication to ensuring regional peace and stability and its active contribution toward upholding a rules-based international order.
He referenced historic military operations such as Maarka-e-Haq and Operation Bunyanum Marsoos to provide insight into Pakistan’s stance on terrorism. He condemned the harmful influence of certain regional players who sponsor and propagate terrorism under the guise of hybrid warfare.
The COAS emphasized Pakistan’s sacrifices—both human and economic—in its continuous efforts to combat terrorism and ensure global safety.
Field Marshal Munir also spotlighted Pakistan’s vast untapped potential in sectors such as information technology, agriculture, and its underutilized mining and mineral resources. He invited international stakeholders to explore investment and collaboration opportunities to promote shared economic growth.
He also shared Pakistan’s balanced and principled approach to global and regional conflicts, advocating for peaceful solutions through dialogue, diplomacy, and strict adherence to international law. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s constructive and responsible role in de-escalating regional tensions and advancing cooperative security efforts.
Discussions included a review of the longstanding Pakistan–U.S. partnership. The Army Chief highlighted the historical alignment between the two countries, particularly in counter-terrorism, regional stability, and economic cooperation.
He stressed the potential for expanding this relationship into a more comprehensive partnership grounded in mutual respect, shared strategic goals, and economic synergy. Participants acknowledged the COAS’s transparent and insightful perspectives and expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s consistent, values-driven policies.
The meetings were characterized by a spirit of mutual respect and understanding and were widely seen as a meaningful step forward in strengthening the strategic dialogue between Pakistan and the United States.
