The United Nations’ World Food Programme (WFP) has confirmed that its food stocks in Gaza have been completely exhausted, with over 400,000 people facing imminent starvation as Israel’s blockade stretches into its eighth week. The agency warned that unless humanitarian access is restored immediately, it will have to halt all food assistance operations.
WFP said the cost of basic food items has surged by 1,400 percent, leaving the remaining supplies beyond the reach of most families. Local aid kitchens, once able to support the majority of the population, are now providing less than a quarter of daily caloric needs.

The situation is worsening by the day, with at least 52 hunger-related deaths already reported, most of them children. Meanwhile, no aid has entered Gaza since early March, and attacks on vital civilian infrastructure continue to cripple humanitarian efforts.
International condemnation is growing, with several nations warning that the blockade could amount to collective punishment. The WFP stressed that food aid is ready for immediate delivery if access is granted, urging all parties to uphold international humanitarian law.
