The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) has issued a sharp rebuke against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s recent remarks about the establishment of a Palestinian state in Saudi Arabia. The GCC, which consists of six nations, labeled the comments as “dangerous and irresponsible,” condemning them for their disregard for international laws and treaties.
Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary-General of the GCC, stressed that Netanyahu’s statements show a blatant disrespect for the sovereignty of states and international norms. He reaffirmed the council’s unwavering support for the Palestinian people’s rights and emphasized the need for a two-state solution. Albudaiwi called for an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
