Global Air Travel in Chaos as Israel-Iran Conflict Grounds 6,000 Flights

Flights

The escalating conflict between Israel and Iran has thrown global air travel into disarray, with over 6,000 flights cancelled in just 48 hours, causing massive disruption across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.

Key airports in Tel Aviv, Tehran, Baghdad, and Damascus have either shut down or are operating under tight restrictions. Major carriers including Delta, Lufthansa, Emirates, and Air India have suspended routes, rerouted flights, or halted services to the region entirely.

Ben Gurion Airport in Israel has been one of the hardest hit, with Israel’s own airspace remaining closed for a second straight day. Delta Airlines announced it will not resume service to Israel until at least the end of August.

With Iran, Iraq, Jordan, and Lebanon also closing their skies, vital air corridors between Europe and Asia have been disrupted, sending airline stocks tumbling and oil prices climbing amid fears of a prolonged crisis.
