Hamas Rejects Trump’s Gaza Peace Plan, Calls It Biased Towards Israel

Palestinian group Hamas is unlikely to accept US President Donald Trump’s proposed Gaza peace plan, calling it biased and unacceptable. The group said the initiative “serves Israel’s interests” while ignoring Palestinian rights and demands.

The Trump administration presented a 20-point framework aimed at ending the two-year Gaza conflict. Key conditions included Hamas disarming and accepting the deployment of an International Stabilisation Force (ISF) in Gaza. Hamas strongly rejected these terms, describing the ISF as “a new form of occupation.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and several Western leaders have welcomed the proposal. However, Hamas has yet to issue an official response. According to Qatar’s foreign ministry, the group is reviewing the plan responsibly, though internal divisions remain.

Reports suggest Hamas military commander Ez al-Din al-Haddad favors continuing armed resistance, while leaders based outside Gaza are sidelined in the debate.

Other Palestinian factions have also opposed the plan, further complicating efforts for peace. A map released by the Trump administration raised concerns by showing a potential buffer zone along the Egypt-Gaza border. Hamas fears that if Israel oversees the zone, it would extend occupation rather than end it.

President Trump gave Hamas a four-day deadline to respond to the ceasefire proposal. He warned of “severe consequences” if the group rejects the plan. While some Arab states support the framework, Hamas has made clear that it will not disarm.

“Hamas is either going to be doing it or not,” Trump said, warning of a “sad end” if the group refuses. When asked about the chance of negotiations, he replied, “Not much.

The rejection highlights the deep divide between international efforts and Palestinian resistance, leaving the Gaza conflict unresolved.
