Iran Accuses US of Direct Responsibility Amid Rising Israel–Iran Tensions

Iran’s Foreign Ministry has accused the United States of being directly responsible for recent ceasefire violations and escalating tensions in the region. The remarks came as military exchanges between Iran and Israel intensified.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said the US is directly responsible for the current situation due to its regional policies. He stated that Israel’s actions cannot be separated from Washington’s influence and decision-making.

He added that ongoing developments show a clear link between US policy and regional instability. According to him, this makes Washington directly responsible for the worsening security situation.

Baghaei made the comments during a press briefing. He said the recent escalation includes renewed strikes, missile exchanges, and continued military activity across multiple locations.

He also criticized the United Nations nuclear watchdog chief Rafael Mariano Grossi. He accused him of biased reporting and said his position is damaging the credibility of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

According to Baghaei, the agency leadership is not acting neutrally in assessing the nuclear situation. He claimed this behavior further complicates diplomatic efforts in the region.

Meanwhile, military tensions continued to rise. Israel’s army said it struck targets at a petrochemical complex in Mahshahr, located in southwestern Iran.

Israeli officials described the operation as part of ongoing military actions against strategic infrastructure. The situation has added further strain to already fragile regional conditions.

At the same time, reports confirmed that multiple explosions were heard in Jerusalem. Israeli authorities said they were intercepting incoming missiles launched from Iran.

These exchanges have heightened fears of broader escalation. Analysts warn that continued strikes could further destabilize the region.

Iran maintains that external influence is a key factor behind the conflict. Officials repeatedly stressed that the United States remains directly responsible for enabling actions that escalate tensions.

As military operations continue on both sides, diplomatic efforts remain uncertain. Regional observers are closely watching for any signs of de-escalation in the coming days.
