Iran Claims No Major Damage to Fordow Nuclear Site Following US Airstrikes

Iranian authorities on Sunday refuted allegations that recent US-Israeli airstrikes caused significant destruction to its nuclear facilities, specifically downplaying the impact on the Fordow site. Officials insisted the installation suffered only limited surface-level damage and that no radioactive materials were released.

Mohammad Manan Raeisi, a parliamentary representative from Qom, stated in local media interviews that the Fordow facility remained secure, with only minor structural damage reported. He confirmed that all critical nuclear materials had been removed prior to the strikes.

“There has been no radiation leak, and the situation is fully controlled,” Raeisi said, countering US President Donald Trump’s assertion that key Iranian nuclear sites at Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan had been effectively hit.

He also warned that Iran reserves the right to retaliate, labeling the US strikes as a “reckless and provocative” move by Trump.

Another local official in Qom acknowledged the airstrike had impacted part of the Fordow complex but reiterated that the damage was minimal.

Meanwhile, Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization condemned the attacks, calling them a clear breach of international law and nuclear agreements. The agency stressed that Iran’s nuclear efforts remain peaceful and warned that the aggressive action would not go unanswered.
