A senior Iranian official has strongly refuted U.S. President Donald Trump’s recent claims of a ceasefire agreement between Iran and Israel, calling it a “lie” and accusing Trump of spreading misinformation to manipulate global opinion.
According to a report by CNN, the Iranian official asserted that no formal ceasefire proposal had been received by Tehran and that the country saw no reason for such an agreement in the current situation.
“At this very moment, the enemy is committing aggression against Iran, and Iran is on the verge of intensifying its retaliatory strikes, with no ear to listen to the lies of its enemies,” the official stated.

The denial directly contradicts Trump’s earlier announcement on his social media platform Truth Social, where he declared a 12-hour ceasefire between Israel and Iran, claiming that both sides had agreed to wind down military operations and end what he called “The 12 Day War.”
However, Iran has made it clear that it does not acknowledge any such agreement and instead warned of escalating its counterattacks in response to continued aggression.
The Iranian official further emphasized,
“Iran will continue to resist until a just and lasting peace is achieved. Any statements made by the U.S. or Israel will be seen as deceptive tactics to justify further attacks on Iranian interests.”
The comments come in the wake of Iran’s missile attack on the U.S. Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar—a retaliation for American strikes on Iranian nuclear infrastructure. Though Trump claimed no casualties occurred due to Iran’s early warning, Iranian authorities maintain that the strike was a clear message of deterrence.
Diplomatic tensions remain high, with mixed messages coming from multiple fronts. While Trump has positioned himself as a peacebroker, Iran’s latest statements suggest that the conflict is far from over and that talk of a ceasefire may be premature or entirely unfounded.
As the situation continues to evolve, regional and international stakeholders are closely monitoring developments, with many questioning the credibility of Trump’s ceasefire claim and its potential implications for Middle Eastern stability.
