Drones struck the US embassy in Riyadh on Tuesday as the Middle East sank deeper into Crossfire between Iran, the United States, and Israel. The attack came days after US and Israeli strikes killed Iran’s supreme leader, triggering a wider regional conflict.
Smoke damage was visible on the walls and roof of the American embassy in the Saudi capital. Saudi police sealed off the diplomatic quarter. Roads leading to the embassy were blocked. The Saudi foreign ministry condemned the attack as “heinous and unjustified.”
Explosions were also reported in Bahrain and Qatar. Sirens rang out across Gulf cities as missile and drone strikes continued. Iran’s armed forces said they targeted Israeli sites and the major US air base at Al-Udeid in Qatar. Qatari officials claimed they intercepted attacks aimed at the airport.
The region now finds itself in dangerous Crossfire, with energy facilities and diplomatic missions under threat. In the UAE city of Fujairah, debris from intercepted drones caused a fire at an oil facility. Authorities said the blaze was quickly contained and operations resumed.
Qatar has halted liquefied natural gas production. Energy markets reacted sharply. Oil and gas prices rose for a second straight day. Investors fear prolonged Crossfire could disrupt global energy supplies.
Iran’s Revolutionary Guards warned that further retaliation was possible. Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump said the conflict could last weeks or even months. He did not rule out additional military steps if necessary.
The United States urged its citizens to leave the Middle East due to serious safety risks. Several governments are working to evacuate their nationals as violence spreads.
In Lebanon, Israeli forces advanced into new positions after Hezbollah launched missiles in support of Iran. Thousands of Lebanese civilians have been displaced as border clashes intensify.
The United Nations expressed deep concern about the growing civilian toll. Satellite imagery also showed recent damage at Iran’s Natanz nuclear site.
