Iran Unveils 10-Point Proposal After US Agrees to Negotiations

Iranian authorities have revealed a sweeping 10-point proposal that they claim the United States has agreed to discuss, marking a dramatic diplomatic shift after weeks of intense regional conflict. Officials in Tehran said the framework outlines political, military, and economic conditions designed to reduce tensions and secure long-term guarantees for Iranโ€™s security and economic stability.

According to Iranian state media, the proposal seeks an end to multiple conflicts across the Middle East while demanding major concessions, including the lifting of sanctions, compensation for war-related damages, and the restoration of Iranian assets frozen abroad. The plan is presented as a comprehensive roadmap aimed at transitioning from military confrontation toward diplomatic negotiations.

Among the key demands, Iran called for a complete end to wars in Iraq, Lebanon, and Yemen, along with a permanent halt to military actions against Iran. Tehran also proposed broader regional de-escalation measures to prevent future conflicts involving allied groups and regional actors.

The proposal includes reopening the Strait of Hormuz and establishing a formal maritime safety protocol to guarantee secure shipping through the strategic global oil route. Iran further demanded financial compensation for economic losses and reconstruction costs while insisting on the full removal of international sanctions affecting its banking system and oil exports.

In return, Iran offered assurances that it would not pursue nuclear weapons, addressing one of the Westโ€™s primary concerns. Officials stated that an immediate ceasefire across all fronts would take effect once the outlined conditions are accepted and negotiations formally conclude.

Pakistan has emerged as a key diplomatic mediator following the ceasefire announcement. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif invited delegations from both countries to Islamabad for talks scheduled on April 10, 2026, expressing hope that the discussions would lead to lasting peace and regional stability.
