Iran Vows to Rebuild Nuclear Program After Strikes, Says Science Cannot Be Bombed Away

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has declared that Iran’s peaceful nuclear development remains intact and cannot be dismantled through military attacks, following Israeli and U.S. strikes on Iranian nuclear sites earlier this month.

In an interview with CBS News aired Tuesday, Araghchi rejected U.S. President Donald Trump’s claim that American strikes had “obliterated” Iran’s nuclear capabilities. “One cannot obliterate the technology and science for [peaceful uranium] enrichment through bombings,” he stated, marking his first public response to the attacks.

The strikes were part of a 12-day joint offensive that began on June 13, led by Israel and later joined by the United States. They targeted nuclear and military infrastructure across Iran’s central regions. While the assault inflicted damage on key facilities, Araghchi emphasized that the damage was “reparable” and pledged swift recovery and advancement of Iran’s nuclear programme.

Araghchi framed the nuclear program as a matter of national resilience and pride. “If there is this will on our part — and the will exists — we will be able to expeditiously repair the damages and make up for the lost time,” he asserted.

His remarks come amid growing international scrutiny of the escalating conflict and concerns over the future of diplomacy in the region.
