Iranian Parliament Acknowledges Pakistan’s Solidarity Amid Regional Tensions

In a rare show of gratitude, members of the Iranian parliament chanted “Thank you, thank you Pakistan” during a special session, acknowledging Pakistan public support for Iran amid escalating tensions with Israel. The chants followed remarks by Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, who praised Pakistan for standing with Iran during a critical time in the region.

Addressing lawmakers, President Pezeshkian reaffirmed Iran’s commitment to its nuclear programme, stating it remains peaceful and within the country’s legitimate rights. “The enemy is delusional if it believes it can destroy our nuclear capabilities by assassinating our scientists,” he said, referencing recent Israeli airstrikes targeting key Iranian assets and personnel.

The session featured emotional tributes to Iranian military commanders, soldiers, and nuclear scientists who were killed in the strikes. Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf condemned the attacks, calling them “barbaric,” and urged unity and resistance against foreign aggression. “Iran will never compromise on its sovereignty,” he declared.

This wave of appreciation comes just days after Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed full solidarity with Iran. While calling for restraint, Sharif emphasized that Pakistan stands firmly with the Iranian people in this difficult hour, a gesture that was clearly well-received in Tehran.
