Iran’s Araqchi Visits New Delhi for Talks on India-Pakistan Tensions

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi arrived in New Delhi on Thursday for a key visit focused on addressing rising tensions between India and Pakistan. Earlier this week, Araqchi visited Pakistan, where he called for restraint from both nations amid escalating concerns over a deadly attack in Kashmir.

The attack, which occurred last month, has triggered accusations between the two nuclear-armed countries, with India blaming Pakistan and Pakistan denying involvement, while claiming India might be preparing military action.

Araqchi emphasized the need for de-escalation during his visit to Islamabad, urging both countries to avoid actions that could worsen tensions.

His visit to India is part of Iran’s diplomatic efforts to mediate between the two countries, given Tehran’s close relations with both Islamabad and New Delhi.

His discussions in New Delhi are expected to cover regional stability, bilateral relations, and global issues, while continuing efforts to ease the ongoing conflict.
