Israel Claims Killing of Iran’s Top Military Commander Major General Ali Shadmani in Tehran Airstrike

In a significant escalation of the ongoing Iran-Israel conflict, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have claimed responsibility for the targeted killing of Major General Ali Shadmani, Iran’s wartime Chief of Staff, in a precise airstrike on central Tehran.

Shadmani, who was recently appointed Commander of the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters following the martyrdom of Lt. Gen. Gholamali Rashid, was one of the most senior military officials in Iran and a close advisor to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The strike marks the second high-level Iranian military loss in under a week.

While the Israeli military has not disclosed operational details, the assassination highlights Tel Aviv’s strategic shift toward decapitating Iran’s military leadership. Iran has yet to officially confirm Shadmani’s death.

The continued targeting of top commanders has pushed the regional conflict to dangerous new levels, with experts warning of potential direct confrontations in the days ahead. Tehran’s response to the latest strike remains to be seen, as calls for retaliation grow louder within the Iranian establishment.
