Israeli forces launched a series of deadly airstrikes across Gaza, targeting a cafe, multiple schools, and food distribution centers, killing at least 95 Palestinians and injuring scores more. Among the dead were children, women, and a journalist, with many victims concentrated in Gaza City and its northern districts.
One of the deadliest attacks struck Al-Baqa cafeteria, a seaside cafe in northern Gaza City, where 39 people were killed and dozens wounded. The location had been hosting a birthday gathering and was not affiliated with any political or military groups, witnesses said. “We found people torn apart,” said Yahya Sharif. “It was packed with people including children.”

The cafe was completely destroyed, leaving a massive crater behind. Among the victims was journalist Ismail Abu Hatab, one of several media workers killed in Gaza during the ongoing conflict.
In addition to the cafe, Israeli airstrikes targeted four schools sheltering displaced families. Residents said they were ordered to evacuate shortly before the attacks. Amani Swalha, standing amid the rubble of one school, lamented: “Look at us, we are not just numbers. It is our right to live with dignity, not like this.”
Israeli tanks also advanced into eastern parts of the Zeitoun suburb in Gaza City, while aircraft continued bombardment across the north. At least 58 of Monday’s deaths were reported in these areas, including 10 in Zeitoun and 13 southwest of Gaza City, where some victims were killed by gunfire.
The attacks come amid renewed diplomatic efforts involving Israeli Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer, who traveled to Washington for discussions on Gaza and Iran. His visit followed former U.S. President Donald Trump’s call for a hostage deal and ceasefire. However, for residents on the ground, the violence has only escalated.
“Explosions never stopped; they bombed schools and homes. It felt like earthquakes,” said Salah, a father of five. “In the news we hear a ceasefire is near — on the ground we see only death.”
