Israeli Military Intercepts Missile from Yemen Amid Ongoing Tensions

Missile

Israel’s military successfully intercepted a missile early Wednesday that had been launched from Yemen, marking the fifth such attack within a week. Sirens were activated in areas at risk of falling shrapnel, with around nine people reported injured as they sought shelter.

The missile was launched by the Iran-backed Houthi group, which has repeatedly targeted Israel with drones and missiles, claiming these actions are in solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza.

The Houthi group, led by military spokesperson Yahya Sarea, later claimed responsibility for a long-range ballistic missile attack targeting Tel Aviv, asserting that their missile force bombed a military target using a hypersonic ballistic missile. The group vowed to continue its operations against Israel until the siege on Gaza ends.

This latest missile was intercepted before crossing into Israeli territory, marking another significant escalation in the ongoing conflict.
