A deadly shooting struck a busy bus stop in north Jerusalem, leaving four people dead and at least 15 others injured, several of them critically. The attack happened during the morning rush at Ramot Junction, a crowded commuter hub.
According to initial reports, two gunmen opened fire on people waiting at the stop before moving onto a nearby bus and continuing their assault inside. Witnesses described scenes of panic as passengers ran for safety while glass shattered and chaos unfolded.
Security forces responded quickly, surrounding the area and confronting the attackers. Both gunmen were neutralized at the scene. Authorities have not yet released details about their identities or motives.
Emergency teams rushed to treat the wounded, with paramedics describing injured victims lying across sidewalks and roadways. Several of those hurt were evacuated to hospitals, where some remain in critical condition.
The attack is one of the deadliest in Jerusalem in recent months, adding to rising fears amid ongoing regional tensions linked to the Gaza conflict. Security officials have since tightened patrols and checkpoints around the city in an effort to prevent further violence.
As families await official confirmation of victims, Jerusalem is mourning yet another tragic loss of civilian lives. The incident has renewed calls for stronger safety measures on public transportation and in crowded urban areas.
