For the first time in history, Palestine will have a representative at the Miss Universe competition. Nadeen Ayoub, crowned Miss Palestine 2022, is set to participate in the global pageant in Thailand on November 21.
The 27-year-old shared the news on Instagram, dressed in a traditional Palestinian thobe designed by Hiba Abdel Karim. The outfit, embroidered with national colors and cultural symbols, highlighted Palestinian identity on an international stage.
“This is not just about me,” Ayoub said in her video message. “I walk the stage carrying the dreams of Palestinian girls, the dignity of our mothers, and the voice of a homeland that lives in our hearts.”
Her words captured the deeper purpose of beauty pageants—using influence to inspire, represent, and tell stories beyond appearance.
Ayoub’s announcement received overwhelming praise on social media. Supporters expressed pride and encouragement, calling her participation a symbol of strength, hope, and peace. Many users wrote that her representation showed the world a side of Palestine that often goes unseen.
Nadeen Ayoub is no stranger to international platforms. She previously represented Palestine at Miss Earth 2022 in the Philippines, further strengthening her role as a global ambassador.
Beyond pageantry, she works as a nutrition and health coach, entrepreneur, and co-founder of the Olive Green Academy in Dubai, which promotes sustainability through artificial intelligence.
Her advocacy also extends to humanitarian causes, environmental protection, and supporting children with disabilities and vulnerable families. Ayoub has built a reputation for combining beauty with purpose, showing how Miss Universe contestants can be both elegant and socially responsible.
Her participation comes at a time when Palestine faces immense suffering due to the ongoing war in Gaza. Over 61,000 Palestinians have been killed since October 2023, with women and children making up the majority of victims. The destruction has displaced millions, destroyed infrastructure, and left hospitals struggling to operate.
Amid this devastation, Nadeen Ayoub’s presence at Miss Universe carries symbolic weight. For many, it represents resilience, cultural pride, and a chance for Palestine’s voice to be heard on one of the world’s most prestigious stages.
