On the first day of Eid ul Azha, more than 14,000 individuals in Türkiye sustained injuries while slaughtering sacrificial animals.
Türkiye’s Health Minister reported that a total of 14,372 people were admitted to hospitals on Friday. The highest number of injuries occurred in Ankara with 1,049 cases, followed by 753 in Istanbul and 655 in Konya.

He advised citizens to seek the help of trained butchers to prevent such incidents.
Notably, a similar pattern was observed last year, when nearly 16,000 people were injured during animal sacrifices on Eidul Azha.
Türkiye, along with the rest of the Islamic world, observes Eidul Azha on 10th Zilhajj each year with deep religious devotion to honor the great sacrifice of Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) and Hazrat Ismael (AS).
