Pakistan has welcomed US President Donald Trump’s statement on the long-standing Kashmir dispute, reaffirming the importance of resolving the issue in accordance with United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions. The country praised the role of the United States and other nations in facilitating the ceasefire between India and Pakistan, which followed rising military tensions in the region.
In a statement on Sunday, Pakistan’s Foreign Office spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan expressed appreciation for the US-led mediation, which helped reduce tensions and ensured regional stability. He stressed that the ceasefire was a significant step towards peace, as both nations had agreed to end hostilities and work towards a peaceful solution.

Pakistan reiterated its position on Kashmir, emphasizing that any resolution must respect the right of the Kashmiri people to self-determination in line with UNSC resolutions.
