Officials identified both attackers as Palestinians from the West Bank with no prior arrest records. They were killed at the scene by return fire from a soldier and an armed civilian. A third suspect from East Jerusalem was later arrested
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited the site. He said Israel is βat war on multiple frontsβ and pledged to track down anyone involved or supporting the attackers.
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas condemned the violence against all civilians. Hamas and Islamic Jihad praised the attackers, calling them “resistance fighters,” though no group officially claimed responsibility.
The attack happened amid heightened violence in the region and comes as Israel continues military operations in Gaza and the West Bank. It is one of the deadliest attacks near Jerusalem in recent months.
