In a remarkable act of bravery, a woman with no formal flight training successfully landed a small plane in Bakersfield, California, on Friday after her husband, the pilot, suffered a heart attack mid-flight.
The aircraft, a twin-engine Beechcraft King Air 90, was en route from Henderson, Nevada, to Monterey when the life-threatening emergency unfolded. With the pilot incapacitated, the woman took control of the plane and managed to guide it safely to the ground.
