Putin Announces Russia's Progress Toward Developing Cancer Vaccine

Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on Wednesday that Russian researchers are on the verge of developing a cancer vaccine. Speaking at a futuristic symposium in Moscow, Putin stated that they are very close to creating cancer vaccines and immunomodulatory drugs of a new generation. He expressed hope that these vaccines would soon be effectively used as methods of individual therapy. However, Putin did not provide details on which form of cancer the anticipated vaccinations would target.

Russia gained global attention during the COVID-19 pandemic with the development of its own Sputnik V vaccine against the coronavirus. The development of a cancer vaccine would mark another significant milestone in Russia’s efforts to advance medical science.
