Ramadan 2024: Early Start and Weather Shifts in Saudi Arabia - Impact on Pakistan

According to astronomy expert Ibrahim Al Jarwan, Ramadan in Saudi Arabia is anticipated to commence on March 11, 2024, based on astronomical calculations. This prediction suggests that the holy month is likely to begin on March 11 or March 12 in Pakistan.

In addition to the Ramadan start date, Al Jarwan noted an interesting change in Saudi Arabia’s weather patterns. Winters are expected to conclude on March 20, marking the end of the winter season. This shift indicates that Ramadan will coincide with the winter season for the first time in 26 years, and this trend is anticipated to persist until 2031.

During Ramadan, Muslims observe daily fasts from sunrise to sunset, with the duration of fasting varying across different regions. In Saudi Arabia this year, each fast (roza) is expected to last between 13 and 15 hours.

With the predicted start of Ramadan on March 11, Eid-ul-Fitar is anticipated to be celebrated on April 10 or 11.
