The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has launched its first aid shipment to Syria, departing from King Khalid International Airport.
The shipment, which includes food, shelter, and medical supplies, is headed to Damascus International Airport. Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah, Advisor to the Royal Court and Supervisor General of KSrelief, announced that this airlift will be followed by a land bridge in the coming days.
He stressed that these efforts reflect Saudi Arabia’s long-standing commitment to humanitarian assistance for both brotherly and friendly nations.
Since the onset of the Syrian crisis in 2011, Saudi Arabia has been a key contributor to international humanitarian aid, providing continuous support to internally displaced Syrians, neighboring countries, and victims of the 2023 northern Syria earthquake.
By the end of 2024, Saudi Arabia will have contributed $856,891,000 in aid to Syria through KSrelief.
