Saudi Arabia Rejects Trump’s Gaza Plan, Stands Firm on Palestinian State

Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia has firmly rejected former US President Donald Trump’s proposal to take over Gaza and displace its Palestinian population. The Kingdom reiterated that it will not normalize ties with Israel without the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.

The Saudi Foreign Ministry emphasized its opposition to forced displacement, land annexation, and illegal settlements. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman reaffirmed that normalization with Israel hinges on the creation of a Palestinian state within the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Trump, speaking alongside Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, suggested that Palestinians should not return to Gaza and instead be resettled in other countries. Saudi Arabia, along with Egypt and Jordan, has outright rejected this idea.

The Kingdom stressed that the global community must uphold Palestinian rights under international law, rejecting Trump’s proposal as a violation of sovereignty.
