Saudi Arabia Rejects Trump’s Gaza Proposal, Stands Firm on Palestinian Rights

Saudi Arabia has strongly rejected US President Donald Trump’s controversial proposal to take over Gaza and displace its Palestinian population. The Saudi Foreign Ministry issued a statement reaffirming the Kingdom’s unwavering position on Palestinian sovereignty and its refusal to normalize relations with Israel without the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.

Trump, alongside Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, suggested a US-led effort to transform Gaza into the “Riviera of the Middle East,” advocating for the permanent resettlement of Palestinians in other countries like Egypt and Jordan. Both nations swiftly rejected this idea, and Saudi Arabia joined in condemning any action that violates Palestinian rights.

The Saudi government emphasized that peace in the region is only possible through justice for the Palestinian people, particularly through the establishment of a Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman reiterated this stance in speeches earlier, emphasizing Saudi Arabia’s commitment to working toward Palestinian statehood.

Trump’s remarks have sparked outrage, with critics accusing him of promoting ethnic cleansing and disregarding international law. Palestinian resistance groups have condemned the proposal, warning of firm resistance to any foreign-imposed rule over Gaza. Saudi Arabia remains resolute in its support for Palestinian self-determination, stressing that their rights cannot be compromised.
