Security alerts Disrupt Operations at Eight French Airports

Eight French airports, including Toulouse, Biarritz, Pau, Nice, Lyon, Lille, Rennes, and Nantes, faced security alerts and some were evacuated for checks, according to the DGAC aviation authority and the interior ministry.

Lille airport was specifically evacuated due to a bomb scare. This occurred within the context of heightened security measures in France following the murder of a schoolteacher in a suspected Islamist attack on October 13.

Additionally, the Palace of Versailles, a major tourist attraction in France, was closed again due to its third security scare in just five days.

Earlier, bomb alerts had forced evacuations at prominent locations, including the Louvre museum, the Palace of Versailles, and Paris’ Gare de Lyon train station, all of which ultimately proved to be false alarms. France has been on its highest state of alert following recent security concerns.
