Trump Administration Signals Tougher Stance on Global Fronts

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt announced that President Donald Trump is prepared to impose sanctions on Russia if necessary, signaling a potentially tougher stance amid ongoing global tensions. The statement came during a press briefing that touched on several key international issues.

Leavitt addressed the humanitarian situation in Gaza, noting that the Gaza Relief Foundation has been actively distributing food aid to Palestinians. She acknowledged disturbing reports of gunfire targeting individuals awaiting assistance, though she did not elaborate on the source of the violence.

On the Ukraine conflict, Leavitt stated that President Trump was unaware of a recent Ukrainian drone strike on Russian territory but expressed optimism about the possibility of a peaceful resolution to the war. The President is also scheduled to attend the upcoming NATO summit, affirming continued U.S. commitment to international alliances.

Regarding Iran, Leavitt revealed that Special Envoy Steve Witkoff has submitted a new proposal aimed at reaching a nuclear agreement. She warned that if Tehran rejects the deal, it will face “serious consequences,” hinting at possible diplomatic or economic retaliation.
