Former U.S. President Donald Trump was confronted by protesters during a dinner in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday night. The demonstration highlighted anger over the Gaza war and U.S. support for Israel.
Trump was dining at a restaurant near the White House to promote his new federal law enforcement plan for the capital. The evening took an unexpected turn when activists stood up and began shouting slogans such as “Free Palestine.” They accused Trump of backing policies that worsened the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
Security staff quickly moved in to escort the protesters out of the venue. Video from the scene showed Trump pausing as the shouting began before telling his team to remove them. Diners reacted in mixed ways—some applauded the removal, while others booed or clapped in support of the activists.
According to reports, the protesters had secured seats by booking tables earlier in the day. Their plan was to confront Trump directly and draw media attention to the conflict. The group identified with Code Pink, a U.S.-based peace organization known for staging political demonstrations.
The confrontation came as Trump promoted his proposal to send federal officers and the National Guard into Washington, D.C., to fight crime. However, the interruption shifted focus to foreign policy issues and the growing domestic pressure over Gaza.
The incident underlined how the war in Gaza continues to resonate deeply inside the United States, creating flashpoints even at political dinners.
