Former US President Donald Trump has called for severe repercussions against CBS and its parent company, Paramount, following a recent episode of 60 Minutes that featured critical segments on Ukraine and Greenland. In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump accused the long-running news program of functioning as a “dishonest political operative” and demanded the network face “maximum fines and punishment,” including the potential revocation of its broadcast license.
The controversial episode included an interview with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, where he rejected Trump’s false claims that Ukraine had instigated the ongoing conflict with Russia and dismissed allegations that he was a “dictator.” Zelenskyy expressed concern about the spread of Russian narratives in the US, which Trump has repeatedly supported.

Additionally, a segment on Greenland criticized Trump’s past suggestion that the US should purchase the autonomous Danish territory, a remark that Aqqaluk Lynge, a Greenlandic Inuit leader, described as “ugly” and noted by many in Greenland.
Trump, who has previously taken legal action against CBS over an interview with Vice President Kamala Harris, condemned the network’s latest broadcast as part of an ongoing campaign to undermine him politically. “CBS is out of control, at levels never seen before, and they should pay a big price for this,” he wrote.
