Former President Donald Trump is under fire from several high-profile conservative figures after reports emerged that he may accept a luxury jet from the Qatari government. The deal, first revealed by CNN, is raising ethical red flags—even among Trump’s traditional allies.
Daily Wire co-founder Ben Shapiro called the move “indefensible,” noting that conservatives would react furiously if a Democrat took such a gift. Laura Loomer echoed the concern on X, warning the move could stain Trump’s administration given Qatar’s links to Hamas. Her posts were amplified by Fox News host Mark Levin.

Other right-wing voices like Erick Erickson and National Review’s Andrew McCarthy warned the jet could spark legal issues, especially considering Pam Bondi—who previously lobbied for Qatar—allegedly approved the arrangement.
While Trump dismissed critics as “stupid people” for questioning the gift, some in conservative media have called it a “bribe.” Nevertheless, most right-wing TV networks have sidestepped the controversy. Trump spokesperson Karoline Leavitt claimed the deal meets legal standards but did not address potential conflicts of interest.
