Former U.S. President Donald Trump has once again drawn global attention with his bold remarks about American control over Gaza, as he urged Middle Eastern nations to participate in the reconstruction of the war-torn region.
Speaking to reporters, Trump laid out his vision for Gaza’s future, emphasizing that Hamas would not be allowed to regain influence. He proposed that the United States take the lead in overseeing redevelopment efforts while inviting Gulf nations to contribute to rebuilding the area.

Describing Gaza as a “demolition site,” he suggested leveling the region in a large-scale collaboration and proposed relocating displaced Palestinians to other countries. His comments followed a statement by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, as both leaders discussed plans to reshape Gaza.
Israel welcomed the proposal, calling it an innovative and transformative approach to establishing so-called peace. However, Trump’s idea of resettling Palestinians elsewhere sparked significant backlash. Hamas strongly denounced the remarks, calling them “ridiculous” and asserting that Gaza is an integral part of Palestinian land, not a commodity to be negotiated.
Several Arab nations and regional leaders also rejected the proposal, criticizing it as a deviation from longstanding U.S. foreign policy and a threat to Palestinian sovereignty. The opposition grew stronger as critics accused Trump of treating a humanitarian crisis like a business deal.
The controversial plan is expected to be a major agenda item in Trump’s upcoming talks with the King of Jordan, where Arab leaders are likely to voice their concerns. Meanwhile, Washington continues to push for broader discussions, urging regional powers to present alternative solutions.
Despite widespread criticism, Trump’s administration remains firm in its commitment to advancing the plan for Gaza.
