Trump Pushes for Release of Grand Jury Testimony in Epstein Case

The Trump administration is seeking court approval to release grand jury testimony related to the case of the late Jeffrey Epstein, a convicted sex offender. This move follows a wave of frustration from some of Epstein’s supporters after a recent report concluded there was no evidence to support long-running conspiracy theories about the case.

In a statement posted on his Truth Social platform, President Donald Trump expressed his dissatisfaction with the ongoing publicity surrounding Epstein’s case. He asked Attorney General Pam Bondi to produce all relevant grand jury testimony, subject to court approval, stating, “This SCAM, perpetuated by the Democrats, should end, right now!”

Bondi responded quickly, stating on X that the Justice Department was prepared to request the court to unseal the grand jury transcripts. “President Trump – we are ready to move the court tomorrow to unseal the grand jury transcripts,” Bondi wrote.

The call to release the grand jury testimony comes after the Justice Department’s recent conclusion that there was no evidence supporting many of the conspiracy theories surrounding Epstein’s clients and his 2019 death in prison. Some of Trump’s supporters have raised questions about Epstein, with demands for more information, despite the official findings.

Months earlier, Bondi had pledged to unveil significant revelations about Epstein, including names and flight logs. However, Trump’s comments and the push for grand jury testimony reveal growing divisions within his supporter base, as some demand further transparency on the matter. Trump, however, has dismissed the situation as a hoax, continuing to reject the conspiracy theories.

Epstein, who had been accused of sexually abusing minors, was arrested in 2006 and accepted a plea deal. He was arrested again in 2019 on sex-trafficking charges but died in jail later that year under mysterious circumstances, fueling further speculation. As legal battles continue, the grand jury testimony remains a focal point in the ongoing discussions about Epstein’s case.
