“If Afghanistan doesn’t give Bagram airbase back to those who built it, The United States of America, BAD THINGS ARE GOING TO HAPPEN!!!” President DJT

Trump

Donald Trump has warned Kabul about serious consequences if it does not return control of the Bagram Airbase to the United States. The former U.S. president said the base is important and claimed that efforts are already underway to take it back.

Trump stressed that Washington wants the airbase β€œsoon, right away.” He did not confirm whether American troops could be deployed, but his words raised concerns about possible action. Kabul has rejected the idea of a U.S. return, saying Afghanistan’s sovereignty is not open for negotiation.

The Bagram Airbase is located north of Kabul and was the main U.S. military hub during the long war in Afghanistan. It was abandoned in 2021 after the American withdrawal and later came under Taliban control. The base has strategic importance because of its size and location near regional powers.

Kabul has said that foreign troops will not be allowed back under any circumstances. Officials argue that Afghanistan should build ties with the United States only through political and economic means, not military presence.

Experts say regaining Bagram would not be simple. It would require large numbers of soldiers and massive logistics. Any attempt to retake the airbase could also increase tensions with neighboring countries and spark wider instability.

Trump’s comments have added pressure to already strained U.S.–Afghan relations. For Kabul, defending sovereignty is a political priority. For Washington, the focus on Bagram reflects its continued interest in regional security.

The future of the Bagram Airbase remains uncertain. Kabul insists it will remain under Afghan control, while Trump’s warning suggests Washington may not back down easily. The issue could escalate further if neither side is willing to compromise.
