In a dramatic development, Israeli authorities have arrested two Jewish Israeli citizens on suspicion of spying for Iran. The arrests were carried out during an overnight raid in the city of Yamam by the elite counter-terrorism unit of the Border Police.
According to Israeli media reports, the operation was conducted jointly by the Israeli police and the domestic intelligence agency, Shin Bet. The suspects are believed to have been involved in espionage activities aimed at assisting Iran.

Shin Bet stated that the arrests come amid an intensified campaign against Iranian threats, noting that Iran has been making efforts to exploit Israeli civilians to gather sensitive information. This intelligence, the agency warned, has been used to plan attacks on strategic locations and densely populated areas.
Authorities have not released further details about the suspects or the specific nature of the information allegedly passed to Iranian operatives, citing the sensitivity of the ongoing investigation.
