US Intelligence Warns of Possible Israeli Strike on Iran Nuclear Sites

Fresh intelligence reports indicate that Israel may be preparing for a potential strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities, according to CNN’s report citing multiple US officials familiar with classified information. While Israeli leaders have not confirmed any final decision, the intelligence community is increasingly concerned that a military attack could be imminent, especially if a US-led nuclear deal with Tehran fails to fully dismantle Iran’s uranium stockpile.

The intelligence is based on intercepted communications, military movements, and statements from Israeli officials. Notably, the repositioning of air munitions and recent air force drills suggest preparations for a long-range strike. Within the US government, opinions differ on the likelihood of such an attack, but some officials say the probability has grown significantly in recent months.

These developments come amid stalled diplomatic efforts by the Trump administration to negotiate a new nuclear agreement. Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei rejected US demands to halt uranium enrichment, further dimming hopes of a deal. Observers believe Israel sees this as a strategic moment due to Iran’s weakened military and economy, worsened by sanctions and Israeli actions against Iranian proxies.

US officials emphasize that Israel would need American support, including mid-air refueling and specialized munitions, to effectively hit Iran’s underground nuclear sites. While Washington is increasing intelligence monitoring, it is unlikely to back an Israeli strike unless provoked.

Analysts suggest Israel may use the threat of military action to pressure US diplomacy. Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu faces internal challenges balancing hardline positions and maintaining relations with the Trump administration.
