29th death anniversary of poet Parveen Shakir commemorated in her honor.

The Parveen Shakir Trust (PST) observed the 29th death anniversary of the iconic Pakistani poet, Parveen Shakir, on December 26.

The event took place at H-8 graveyard, where literary figures, colleagues, friends, and Trust Members gathered at 11:30 am to honor her enduring spirit and literary contributions.

Born on a rainy day in November 1952 in Karachi, Parveen Shakir received the Pride of Performance award for her remarkable achievements in literature.

Her poetic journey began with the publication of her first collection, “Khushboo,” in 1977. Over time, she released “Sadburg” and “Khudkalami,” followed by her fourth and final book, “Inkaar,” in 1990. A posthumous collection titled “Kafe-Aina” was published in 1996, adding to her legacy.
