Deadly Suicide Blast in Lakki Marwat Kills Policeman, Injures Five

A Suicide Blast in Lakki Marwat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has killed one police officer and injured five others, officials confirmed on Sunday. The attack targeted a police mobile van in the Tajori area, creating fear among residents and raising new concerns about security in the region.

Police identified the martyred officer as Head Constable Alauddin. The injured include Assistant Sub-Inspector Haq Nawaz, Constable Yar Muhammad, and Elite Force personnel Kamal Ahmad, Naeemullah, and Nasrullah. All the injured officers were shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

Officials stated that the Suicide Blast was carried out by an attacker on foot who approached the police mobile and detonated explosives. The force of the explosion damaged the vehicle and caused chaos in the surrounding area. Soon after the attack, security teams cordoned off the site and launched a detailed search operation.

A spokesperson for the provincial police said that the bomber clearly intended to target the Tajori mobile van. He added that investigators are collecting evidence from the blast site and examining CCTV footage to trace the network behind the attack.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi condemned the incident in strong words. He expressed deep sorrow over the loss of Head Constable Alauddin and praised the bravery of the injured officers. Afridi said the government โ€œstands firmly with the police forceโ€ and will take every step to eliminate terrorism. He assured that the sacrifices of the police will not be forgotten.

The Suicide Blast highlights the continuing threat of militant activities in the province. Security analysts say recent attacks show that terrorist groups are attempting to undermine stability in the region.
