In a major development in the high-profile case involving the deaths of two girls struck by the car of an IHC judge’s son, the victims’ families announced on Saturday that they have forgiven the suspect, Abuzar. The court later approved his bail and ordered his release.
The case had drawn significant public attention in recent days. However, the situation changed after both families formally informed the court that they had pardoned the accused. Their statements marked a turning point in the proceedings.
During the hearing at the District and Sessions Courts Islamabad, the victims’ families appeared before Judicial Magistrate Shaista Kundi. One girl’s brother submitted the statement on behalf of the family, while the mother joined online to confirm their decision. The father of the second girl also recorded his statement in person, confirming reconciliation.
After these statements, the magistrate accepted the bail plea of the underage suspect. This allowed the court to order his release in accordance with legal procedures. The IHC judge’s son had earlier been sent on a four-day physical remand following the tragic incident.
Abuzar was presented before the magistrate after completing the remand period. The court reviewed the reconciliation documents and heard the families’ final remarks before granting bail. Officials stated that all legal steps were completed properly and in line with court requirements.
The incident took place on December 2 in Islamabad’s Red Zone area. According to police records, the 16-year-old driver, identified as the IHC judge’s son, was driving at high speed when he collided with a scooter carrying the two girls. Both victims were rushed to the hospital but could not survive their injuries.
Police detained the driver at the scene, and a local court later granted physical remand. The FIR was registered at Secretariat Police Station on the complaint of Adnan Tajammul. Investigations indicated that the crash resulted from speeding, recklessness, and negligence.
With the families choosing forgiveness, the case has entered a new phase, though it continues to draw widespread public interest.
