Gold Prices Hit Rs2,000 to Record High in Pakistan

Gold prices in Pakistan surged on Wednesday, reaching new record levels in line with a strong rally in the international market. Investors and consumers observed a sharp rise in local rates as global demand pushed prices higher.

According to the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Association, the per tola price of 24-karat gold increased by Rs2,000, reaching Rs472,862. Similarly, the price of 10 grams of gold rose by Rs1,717 to Rs405,402 in the local market.

The international bullion market also saw significant gains. The price of gold climbed by $20 per ounce to hit a historic high of $4,505. This global surge has directly influenced the local market, making gold an increasingly valuable asset.

Silver prices in Pakistan also rose, with the per tola rate moving up by Rs500 to settle at Rs7,705. Analysts attribute these increases to heightened global demand and ongoing economic factors affecting precious metals.

The day before, gold in the international market had risen by $85 per ounce, reaching $4,485. Correspondingly, in Pakistan, 24-karat gold per tola had jumped by Rs8,500, hitting Rs470,862. Gold per 10 grams also surged by Rs6,681 to Rs403,688, marking another record high.

Experts say the continuing rise in gold prices reflects global trends and economic uncertainty, making gold a preferred investment for both traders and consumers. The strong performance of gold and silver demonstrates their enduring value as safe-haven assets.

Investors are closely monitoring these trends as local and international markets continue to impact pricing. With gold prices reaching historic highs, demand for the precious metal is expected to remain strong in the coming weeks.
