In addition to Gonzalez, two National Women’s Soccer League players made the top 10: Kansas City Current striker Temwa Chawinga at No. 5 and Orlando Pride forward Barbra Banda at No. 9. Their inclusion reflects the growing influence of the NWSL in global football.
The top American player on the list is Emily Fox, a fullback for Arsenal, who earned the No. 23 spot after helping her team win the UEFA Champions League.
