Ali Tareen Announces Fully Funded Tareen Oxford Scholarship for Pakistani Students

Pakistani entrepreneur and Kellogg College alumnus Ali Tareen has announced the launch of the Tareen Oxford Scholarship, a new initiative to support students from South Punjab pursuing a Master’s degree at the University of Oxford. The scholarship aims to address the low representation of students from the region in global graduate programs.

The scholarship will fully cover tuition fees and living expenses for selected students. In addition, Ali Tareen highlighted that applicants from South Punjab often face financial barriers, and this initiative seeks to remove those obstacles. To assist students with the application process, a guidance webinar will be held on January 14 in partnership with the Oxford Pakistan Programme (OPP).

The Tareen Oxford Scholarship is part of OPP’s broader mission to support Pakistani and British Pakistani students at Oxford. It is specifically designed for students who have already secured admission to a graduate program at Kellogg College but require financial assistance. The scholarship will prioritize candidates who demonstrate academic excellence and potential to contribute to the development of South Punjab.

This scholarship program is planned as a five-year initiative, with funding disbursed annually on a rolling basis. Alongside financial support, Ali Tareen and OPP will conduct a dedicated outreach program to encourage applications from the region.

The program includes an Access Conference for final-year students, offering mentorship to the top 20 participants from Oxford students or alumni. Additionally, 100 high-performing students, including FSc toppers and first-year toppers from public universities in South Punjab, will receive guidance to build competitive profiles for global opportunities.

Eligibility for the scholarship includes a preference for students from South Punjab, demonstrated academic excellence, financial need, and admission to an eligible graduate program at Kellogg College. Applicants must also show intent to contribute to the development of their home region.

The application process involves securing admission to Oxford, submitting an online scholarship application, and participating in an interview. Interested students can register for the upcoming webinar by providing basic details, including their region, education level, and intended graduate track.
