Islamabad Court Issues 24-Hour Arrest Order for Iman Mazari and Hadi Ali Chattha

ISLAMABAD – An Islamabad court has issued a 24-hour arrest order for Iman Mazari and Hadi Ali Chattha, after cancelling their bail in a case linked to alleged controversial social-media posts.

The order was issued by Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Afzal Majoka, directing law-enforcement authorities to take Iman Mazari and Hadi Ali Chattha into custody immediately and produce them before the court. Authorities have been given 24 hours to execute the arrest.

The case is filed under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA), which deals with offenses involving online content and digital communications. Officials said the charges relate to social media activity considered offensive or controversial.

According to court documents, bail for Iman Mazari and Hadi Ali Chattha was previously granted, but the court later decided to revoke it after reviewing the case details. Judge Majoka emphasized the need for strict compliance with legal procedures and directed prompt action by police.

Law-enforcement agencies have been asked to locate both individuals “from wherever they are” and ensure their safe custody while maintaining court instructions. The authorities are also expected to provide a report on the arrest within the stipulated 24-hour window.

This move has attracted attention on social media and in local media outlets. Legal experts note that cases under PECA often involve sensitive content, and arrests can happen quickly if the court finds sufficient grounds. Observers also highlight that the decision underscores the judiciary’s active role in cases involving online content and digital laws.
