TikTok has removed more than 28 million videos uploaded from Pakistan for violating its content rules. The action was taken during the third quarter of the fiscal year 2025–26. This period covered the months from July to September. The development was reported by a local news channel on Wednesday.
According to official data, a total of 28,198,284 videos from Pakistan were taken down. These videos were found to be in breach of TikTok’s Community Guidelines. The removals highlight a strong enforcement push by the platform to control harmful or inappropriate content.
The latest enforcement report shows a sharp rise in proactive moderation. TikTok’s content removal rate in Pakistan reached a record level of 99.8 percent. This means most violating videos were detected before users reported them. The report also revealed that 95.9 percent of the videos were removed within 24 hours of upload.
The company said the move reflects its focus on building a safer digital space. TikTok aims to limit the spread of content that may harm users or violate platform standards. This includes videos involving hate speech, misinformation, or unsafe behavior.
Technology played a major role in the process. Automated systems handled most of the video removals. These tools are designed to quickly detect content that breaks rules. Human moderation teams were also involved. Their role included reviewing appeals and handling complex cases that required judgment. The platform also consulted external experts when needed.
The report also shared global figures for the same period. Worldwide, TikTok removed more than 2.04 billion videos. This accounted for around 0.7 percent of all content uploaded globally. Of these removals, automated detection systems identified over 186 million videos.
The data shows how large-scale moderation has become essential for social media platforms. With millions of videos uploaded daily, automated tools help manage content at speed. However, human oversight remains important for fairness and accuracy.
